Beauty Monday: Le Petit Marseillais

Zapraszam! :-)
It's been a while since French cosmetics Le Petit Marseillais are available in Poland. That's why I thought it would be cool to share with you my opinion on them, since I've been using them for years! To illustrate today's entry I took pictures of some cosmetics that I have at the moment, but I will tell you about other ones as well. Here we go! :-)
Let's start with the obvious thing: as for all other brands, also LPM has great cosmetics as well as quite average ones. But I often buy them and I always want to try more of them, since it only happened to me once to discover one that was a total disaster. So there's almost no risk involved :-) At the same time I must admit that I'm in love with the packaging of their products, I find it so simple and charming!

In my opinion, the best LPM cosmetics are shower gels and hand soaps. I'm really glad with them every time I buy them! The choice of fragrances is really big, however I'm not always 100% happy with them: I love some of them, but some tend to irritate my nose after a while. Luckily, in most cases they don't stay for long time on the skin (not counting the olive oil liquid hand soap, but I love its fragrance, I'm addicted to it!).

Le Petit Marseillais shower gels are my favourites. I've been using them for years and even if sometimes I buy gels from other brands, I always come back to LPM ones. They last long and are very gentle for the skin. Well, on most of them is written an information about their moisturizing and nourishing effects, but I don't really believe in this. You know, body butters and lotions are there to moisture your skin, and a shower gel just has to wash it, that's all. The key is to find one that will not make your skin dry after use, and LPM gels are just perfectly inoffensive. Even during my treatment which gave me hypersensitive skin, the LPM products worked for me better than any soaps bought in the pharmacy. So if you'd like to buy your first LPM product, choose a shower gel in your favourite fragrance!

LPM products that are less interesting are the hair care ones. Some are better, some are worse, it depends. For example, the 2in1 olive shampoo was supposed to be mine, but after only few uses my scalp reacted with dandruff, so I had to stop using it. Too bad, since it smells so nice! But the thing is that not everyone will be harmed by it, since Olivier uses it and is very happy with it! He even bought few more ones :-) For his short, normal hair washed on daily basis this shampoo is just perfect. His hair is soft and shiny, and the product lasts a long time.
Obecnie używam miodowego szamponu LPM do włosów suchych i łamliwych.

Buziaki!
Currently I'm using the honey shampoo for dry hair and it's really average. What is more, it doesn't last long, just like the LPM hair conditioner that you can see above. The hair conditioner smells so extremely nicely (sweet almonds!), but does literally nothing to my hair. I think that I will have to come back to my favourites from SYOSS (HERE).

As I mentioned before, it happened to me only once to buy a LPM product that was a complete disaster. It was their hair spray that was supposed to help with detangling hair. I regret that I threw away the half-full bottle just few days before I took pictures for this post, so I can't even show you how it looked like. I don't know if all hair mists/sprays from LPM are so horrible, but I won't try to verify that. The one that I had (citrus one) was a nightmare. After spraying it on my hair, if I didn't use enough product, it didn't work at all. But it was enough to press the spray too hard and the only thing I was able to do with my hair was to go and wash it again. It didn't help to comb my hair, it was just making it sticky, like if I had used water with sugar on it. And the highly artificial cirtus fragrance was awful. I really tried to finish the bottle, but when after two or three years I didn't suceed, it ended up in the trash bin. Never again!

To sum up: all the body care products are great and I can highly recommend them, while the hair care ones are a pure lottery. You can find a good one or a complete average one. Personally I love Le Petit Marseillais and I think that, as for the last few years, I will always have at least one of their products in my bathroom!

Have you already tried the LPM cosmetics? Which one do you like the most? Hugs!

Bisous !
